Family fun fiesta!

Macheso, who returns to the event having performed at previous editions where he impressed with his acts.
A coterie of musicians, among them gospel diva Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Blessing Shumba Roki, Stunner and Peter “Young Igwe” Moyo are also expected to perform.
It will be the first time that Peter will be performing at the annual showcase.
This year’s event has a different feel from the previous ones as the organisers have pencilled in a women’s soccer match between the Zimbabwe senior women’s team, the Mighty Warriors and the “The Red She Devils” of DR Congo.
Other activities lined up for the fair include bike rides, jumping castles and the ever-blazing police band, which features the likes of Sergeant Ngudza-Ngudza-Ngulube, Quantum, KaButterfly and Assistant Inspector “Mukedha” Gwidi.
Police spokesperson Superintendent Andrew Phiri said this year’s event would be bigger and better than the previous editions.
“This event is a social one. Moreover, it is being held in the police precincts and we do not expect unruly behaviour but enjoyment plus fun as usual and we hope it is going to be the same this year” he said.
The funfair is an annual event which is now in its 15th year and is a brainchild of the Commissioner- General of Zimbabwe Republic Police.
Its main objective is to raise funds for the less privileged children.
Almost 100 children are currently benefiting under this programme and some have already completed their degree programmes from various universities since the funfair’s inception.
These children are drawn from the country’s 10  provinces with each province having 10 children benefiting through the ZRP provincial community relation liaison officers.
The biggest drawcard of the show would no doubt be Macheso.
Extrabasso, as he is fondly called by his legion of fans, knows how to make people eat from his hands with his catalogue of hits like “Shedia”, “Wemakonzo”, “Madhuve”, “Chimoko Changu” and “Tafadzwa” among others being some of the crowd favourites.
People also love his guitar-strumming skills as well as his thrilling dances and this is exactly what will be in store for those who will make their way to Morris Depot Grounds tomorrow.
The artiste will also use the platform to unveil some of his new songs from his forthcoming album.
Another firebrand to grace the occasion will be the   Madzibaba Nicholas “Senior Lecturer” Zakaria, who together with Cheso Power will represent the sungura music realm and like Macheso, he is also an ace with a number of hit songs to his name.
His songs like “Mazano” and “Mabvi Nemagokora” are all-time favourites and when his dancers, commonly referred to as the Stork Birds, take to the stage to showcase their nimble footwork, people will without doubt love it.
Mutare-based gospel artiste Blessing Shumba will make his maiden appearance at the fete and people must brace for his hit songs like “Titeme Timene”, “Kurwa Kwakanaka”, “Varombo Vachaiteiko?” and “Tichauya Nei?” among others taken off his two albums “NdiMwari” and “Ishe Wazvose”.
Shumba is also expected to play one or two songs featured on an album by inmates from Mutare Prison,  whom he helped record the album.
Gospel diva Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave will also represent female artistes and those who know her can attest to how her powerful voice reaches into one’s soul and she is expected to perform songs like “Makomborero” and “Toita Zvedenga”.
Stunner and Roki will also perform and give youths something to enjoy at the family affair.
