A FAMILY from Bindura is seeking financial assistance for their 10-year-old boy who is suffering from severe aplastic anemia to undergo medical treatment in India.

Nathaniel Mambge requires US$85 000 to undergo a rigorous treatment regimen, which includes immuno-suppressive therapy and a bone marrow transplant in India.

Anemia is a condition whereby one lacks enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to the body’s tissues.

Family spokesperson Mrs Chipo Munodawafa said Nathaniel currently depends on blood transfusions to survive.

“Nathaniel was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia last year, a disease where a body cannot produce red blood cells,” she said.

“Doctors then said he had to undergo a special treatment in India which costs US$85 000.

“As a family, we can’t afford to foot the bill, so we decided to look for assistance from well-wishers.

“The amount needed is too much for us and any support in raising the amount will be welcomed.”

Those willing to assist can contact Thelma Mambge (mother) on +263 775 638 931 or David Mambge (father) on +263 772 928 177.
