The family of the beloved Charles Nyoni, affectionately known as Big Charlie, is in urgent need of financial assistance to cover his burial expenses.
Big Charlie, who passed away yesterday at St. Patrick’s Hospital, had been battling high blood pressure and diabetes for several years, which severely affected his health.
Charles, who weighed 288kg and stood at 2.10 meters tall, requires unique burial preparations due to his extraordinary size.
Florence Sibanda, his niece, highlighted the family’s pressing need for help.
“We earnestly appeal for donations to help cover the costs of preserving his body until the burial. Any contributions, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated,” she shared.
The family’s challenges include the inability to fit Big Charlie’s body into standard mortuary drawers, necessitating specialised preservation measures.
“We need financial support to purchase the necessary injections to preserve his body as we prepare for the burial,” Florence explained.
Big Charlie was the cherished son of the late Robinson Nyoni and Esther Ndlovu. Although he never married, he lived with his nieces, who cared for him daily.
Known for his kind heart, Big Charlie left a lasting impression on many in the community.
The family is reaching out to the public for help during these trying times.
