ENERGETIC dancer-cum-actress, Kessia “Muchaneta” Masona, says fans drive her crazy each time she hosts big events.
Muchaneta, who insists that she doesn’t drink alcohol or smoke weed, says she gets “possessed” each time she grabs the microphone to introduce guests.
In an interview with H-Metro, Muchaneta, who has become a regular director of ceremonies at big events, feels honoured each time she appears on stage.
“People always ask me a lot of questions, as they believe that what I do on stage can only be achieved by someone who is ‘high’ on drugs.
“I take my snuff but I have never taken alcohol or drugs to enhance my performance.
“I am actually against the idea of people taking alcohol to enhance their performances,” she said.
The versatile entertainer, who is also comfortable as a lead vocalist, reckons her energy comes naturally.
“It’s funny that some people think that I take mbanje or alcohol for all this energy I have on stage,” she said.
“I think I get possessed on stage because I will be in my world doing what I love the most. I am also shocked when I watch my recorded videos because I will be seeing two characters.
“I just love everything about my job as a creative who has a special calling in the arts.”
She added: “I wish you had a breathalyser to test me but I don’t take all that stuff, which is taken by other creatives.
“I simply plan my day and the rest happens on its own once I appear on stage.
“On that note, I urge fellow creatives to be sober when they appear in public since alcohol and weed can be harmful.”
