adminChris Brown is creating quite a stir in Hong Kong after finally landing there following his three-day detention in the Philippines. He played a packed gig on Saturday night and was mobbed by fans as he finally made it to the former British territory that is now part of China. The R&B artiste had originally been scheduled to perform on Wednesday at the upscale Dragon-i venue.
The Dragon-i bar and restaurant is one of the top nightspots in Hong Kong and bills itself as an entertainment destination for “the global glitterati”.
The R&B artiste, sporting a white T-shirt and baseball cap, was seen surrounded by burly bodyguards dressed all in black as he showed up for the gig and posed for photos on the red carpet set up outside the venue.
He was greeted by Gilbert Yeung Kei-lung, the son of Hong Kong entertainment tycoon Albert Yeung Sau-shing, as excited members of the media and fans jostled to catch a glimpse of the 26-year-old rapper.
Brown had performed at a packed concert in Manila last Tuesday but was barred from leaving the country after a fraud complaint was brought against him and his promoter over a cancelled concert last New Year’s Eve.
After three days of delay, and a few comical videos of Chris getting cabin fever in his hotel room, the rapper was finally allowed to leave Manila.
He and his posse chartered a private jet on Friday and made for Hong Kong.
Next up for the “Loyal” singer was a concert last night in Tel Aviv, Israel, followed by a gig in Cyprus today before he heads back to the US.
The next American leg of his One Hell Of A Nite tour kicks off in Kansas City, Missouri, on August 12. – dailymirror.
