TSHOLOTSHO Football Club fans are so excited about their side’s maiden fixture in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League that they are mobilising to go in large numbers for their first match against Harare City in the capital city on Friday.
Nqobile Dube, one of the Tsholotsho FC staunch fans said they are busy making arrangements to make the trip to Harare with five mini-buses organised so far to the journey. In an interview in Tsholotsho on Friday, Dube said they will give the team all the support to make sure that they survive their first season in the PSL.

“We are geared up for Harare City, we are going to Harare in our numbers. So far we have organised five kombis to take the fans to Harare, people are still mobilising,’’ said Dube.

Even Tsholotsho South Member of Parliament Zenzo Sibanda has vowed to be one of the fans cheering the team when they take on the Taurai Mangwiro coached Harare City.

Tsholotsho have a baptism of fire in their first two weekends in the country’s top flight domestic league with an away fixture to Harare City followed by a home clash against Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium. Iziqholo Zezhwane as the team is commonly known would be at home but would want to maximise on revenue at the much bigger Emagumeni as their temporary home ground White City is not big enough to accommodate the large number of Highlanders fans.

On what they are expecting to achieve from their first two fixtures, Dube believes they can beat Harare City and earn a draw against Highlanders.

Coached by Lizwe Sweswe, Tsholotsho FC, promoted after winning the Zimbabwe Football Association Southern Region Division One last season have set themselves an ambitious target of becoming the country’s football champions in 2018, something Dube and other fans believe is a possibility.
