Fans want Arsene fired

LONDON. — Arsenal fans have had enough of Arsene Wenger — and called for him to be SACKED. The Gunners boss on Sunday surrendered the title to London rivals Chelsea after losing 2-1 to Swansea.

And the Emirates faithful have had enough.

The hashtag #WengerOut began trending on Twitter on Sunday as frustrated supporters vented their anger on Twitter.

Celebrity fan Piers Morgan led the calls for Wenger to go after 18 years at the helm.

He wrote: “Wenger should be fired for his shocking mis-management of our defence alone. But who will have the guts to do it? #afc

“Useless, yet so predictable. Wenger can’t defend a 20-goal lead these days. When will Arsenal fans wake the f**k up? #afc

“Wenger will never quit. He’s too arrogant, too stubborn. He’ll stumble on until enough Arsenal fans cry: “ENOUGH!” #afc

“I take no pleasure in being proved right about Wenger. His managerial decay has been very distressing to watch for any Arsenal fan.”

Other supporters followed suit with thousands of #WengerOut messages being published since Sunday’s dreary defeat.

Arsenal fell apart at the back again are are now 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher tore into the Gunners and said: “It’s the same things with Arsenal, it’s nothing new.

“It’s the way they play, the way they understand the game, what’s coming from the sidelines and how they allow themselves to get in these situations week after week, season after season.

“They were winning 1-0 but for the equalising goal they were all pushing forward and got caught on the counter-attack again.

“Then the winning goal is down to a weakness — not being physically strong enough when the cross comes in. These are problems that anyone can identify.”

And things don’t get any easy for the under-fire Frenchman.

Arsenal’s first match back after the international break is against Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Paul Merson branded Wenger childish on Sunday night for spitting his dummy over his “clueless” rant.

Starsport columnist Merse slammed Wenger live on television week after Arsenal blew a three-goal lead to draw with Anderlecht in the Champions League last week.

The former Arsenal star (46) compared Wenger’s men to an Under-12 team and repeatedly branded his old boss “tactically clueless” in a brutal post-match rant. But Wenger hit back over the weekend dismissing such criticism as “a joke”, saying: “I managed him. I tried.” — The Daily Star.
