Fanset fleet managers land in town

THE Manicaland business community yesterday (Thursday) welcomed fast growing vehicle fleet management company, Fanset International, into the province following the commissioning of its Mutare branch at a local hotel.

The opening of the Mutare branch is an expansion of the company’s footprint in the country and region at large as it has already established operations in Namibia, Rwanda, Seychelles, Uganda, Ghana, South Africa, Zambia, and the rest of Zimbabwe.

The technology giant provides fleet management solutions that include vehicle fuel monitoring, vehicle tracking, security solutions and machine monitoring, among other services under its Internet of Things (IoT) system.

The Internet of Things (IoT) describes the network of physical objects that are embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies for the purpose of connecting and exchanging data with other devices and systems over the internet.

The company is wholly-owned by Zimbabweans.

In an interview, co-founder and chief operations officer, Mr Spencer Matonhodze said their mission is to become the most innovative technology solutions provider to improve business efficiency.

Through its FanTracker brand and application, the company offers remote control access of the vehicle and advanced fuel monitoring solutions, whereby it provides one with precise knowledge of the actual fuel on one’s vehicles or machinery wherever they may be in the world.

All one needs is to have the tracker instilled into the vehicle or machine by Fanset International and have the application downloaded onto their phone or laptop.

With this, they can access their vehicle’s information on the go.

“Our advanced fuel monitoring solution provides you with precise knowledge of the actual fuel on your vehicles, generators, or earthmoving machinery, giving you accurate information on the number of fuel refillings, location of filling, while preventing fuel siphoning, thereby reducing losses while helping companies to make more profits.

“This world-class solution allows you to benchmark drivers, machine operators and site managers through our various intuitive reports and notifications through SMS and emails notifications,” he said.

Fanset International chief executive officer, Mr Tazvida Gaza said their company is a digitisation partner of choice as it focuses on seamless communication between people, process and things.

“There is limitless possibilities with data and all we can do is embrace data driven businesses, the economy and the world. Our key IoT verticals are vehicle telematics, smart logistics, smart agriculture, retail/vending solutions, asset tracking and e-health and we have other applications and brands that we have for these verticals, not just FanTracker,” he said.

Some of the Fanset International’s brands include Murimi 247 which specialises on smart agriculture and Rtn Load Logistics Simplified which eases the way of doing business for truckers who travel across borders, among other brands.

Mr Gaza further advised businesses to contract Fanset International and unlocking their businesses’ values with IoT.

He said this will reduce costs for the businesses, while improving efficiency and productivity.

The branch which is situated at Msasa Windsor House in the uptown part of Mutare’s Central Business District did not import labour from other areas as all its employees are local youngsters from the city.

Newly elected Mutare Mayor, Councillor Simon Chabuka welcomed Fanset International to Mutare and commended the company for creating jobs for local youths.

“On behalf of the City of Mutare, I am very grateful that all of your employees are youthful Mutareans.

“The job creation that you have done in our city is much appreciated. I implore other business people to embrace your vehicle fleet management services. Hopefully, one day Mutare City Council will also seek your services,” he said.

Redcape Enterprises trucking business owner, Mrs Lydia Juliana Marange who was the first business person in Mutare to contract Fanset praised the company’s services.

She said Fanset International has introduced technology that has transformed the nature of operations in the country’s trucking industry, thereby making it easier for women to run their trucking businesses.

She said FanTracker has been a full package as it has provided her human resources department with drivers’ scoring, accident notifications, vehicle damage maps and servicing reminders, among other things.

“With FanTracker, we are able to monitor how our drivers are driving our trucks and the frequency of their stops.

“We also monitor geo-fencing routes, thus eliminating route diversions and timeous delivery of consignments.

“If someone is off route the system will pick it. Speeding alerts are also enabled and we can run reports on speeding from the office while the truck is in Mozambique or Democratic Republic of Congo,” she said.

Mrs Marange said they have almost eliminated fuel losses due to siphoning and theft by drivers and that their trucks’ lifespan, outlook and driver safety has also improved as the trucks are now being looked after well.
