Farmers hail Nico-Orgo

that pounded the country last month.
Nico-Orgo commercial director Mr Sylvester Tsikisayi said organically enriched fertiliser was a slow release compound which enabled tobacco plants to absorb nutrients at a more efficient rate compared to conventional granulated tobacco fertilisers.

He said apart from providing the primary nutrients (N,P,K), it also contained calcium, magnesium and carbon — essential mineral elements required to produce quality leaves for barn curing.

Organic enriched fertilisers have been proven to provide additional key elements to crops such as strong positive influence on soil and reduction of nutrient leaching such as nitrogen as it binds with nutrients in the soil.
