FASTJET Zimbabwe has introduced WhatsApp flight notifications to give passengers real-time updates on departures, check-in, boarding and post-flight feedback, as airlines increasingly turn to digital tools to improve customer service.
The airline said the service will be available across its domestic and regional network, allowing travellers to receive updates directly on their mobile phones.
The alerts include flight departure times, check-in opening notices, counter allocations, boarding calls and customer satisfaction surveys after travel.
The development comes as competition intensifies on major regional routes, particularly Harare-Johannesburg, where carriers are seeking to retain passengers through reliability, convenience and stronger communication.
Fastjet spokesperson Nunurai Ndawana said the platform supports fastjet Zimbabwe’s broader commitment to enhancing customer engagement by providing travellers with timely information and reducing uncertainty throughout their travel journey.
Analysts say real-time passenger communication has become a key differentiator in aviation, with travellers placing growing value on timely information and smoother airport processes.
fastjet Zimbabwe has also been expanding its corporate partnerships, including support for the ADMA Agric Show and the Victoria Falls Marathon, as it seeks to deepen its presence in business, tourism and community initiatives.
