A Harare man has been ordered by the Civil Court not to insult or chase his wife from their matrimonial home.
Margret Frank sought legal help after her estranged husband, Tawanda Justice Makarimayi, verbally abused and chased her out of their house.
Margret said Makarimayi had been giving their two-year-old son snuff.
“He forces children to view his new woman’s photos.
“He gives our two-year-old son some snuff whenever he is sniffing it. He told me to leave the house saying it belongs to our young son.
“He once came to the house and insulted me asking why the solar panels were dirty. Am I supposed to climb up the roof to clean the solar panels?” said Margret.
She also said he tells her to borrow things promising to pay, but he never does so.
However, Makarimayi denied the allegations saying he was not staying with her and only went there with groceries.
“I moved out and told her to look after the house. I only went there with some groceries and I never influenced the children or gave them snuff. Yes, we exchanged harsh words,” said Makarimayi.
Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted Margret the protection order, and Makarimayi was told that he is not allowed to insult his wife or chase her from their matrimonial home.
