NYASA Big Bullets FC have handed Kenneth Pawuwa a one-year deal.
Kenneth is the son of club coach Callisto and this is his first foreign breakthrough.
The 24-year-old has had stints with local clubs like Chapungu, Black Rhinos, Green Fuel and Sheasham.
Kenneth went through the ranks of AYSA Academy and he was part of the Sheasham squad, which won the ZIFA Central Region Division One League title last year, to secure PSL promotion.
He joined the champions’ camp earlier this year and several reports had suggested that he was set to join one of the clubs in the Malawian Super League.
This will be his first time to play under the supervision of his father.
Pasuwa has been unstoppable in Malawi, winning four titles in succession, and it remains to be seen if working with his son will help him extend his dominance.
Kenneth said he was ready for the new challenge.
“I’m happy that I’m finally playing under my father, he has won a lot and I hope we will win something together this season.
“I’m not really new to this environment although this is my first foreign move but I have been visiting this country more regularly in the past four years.
“I believe I know what it means to play for this team, it’s a side which is used to winning and it’s my wish to make a name for myself.
He conceded that it’s not going to be easy to emerge out of his father’s shadow.
Prior to his move to Malawi, Pasuwa won four straight league titles with Dynamos from 2011 to 2014.
“My father has made a name for himself here (Malawi) and in Zimbabwe and it’s there for everyone to see.
“He has won a lot of things and it’s not like I’m competing with him but he is just showing me how it’s done.
“Working with him will even make me a better player, he has transformed the careers of many footballers and I’m just hoping for the same to happen to me,” said Kenneth.
Pasuwa has been linked with a role as interim coach of the Flames for the remainder of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
