THE OK Grand Challenge jackpot promotion is here, bigger and better, with more than 30 000 shareholders.

The mega jackpot promotion launched its 35th edition in Harare yesterday with a display by participating brands from OK Mart in Hillside to OK Marimba in Belvedere.

This year’s promotion, running under the theme ‘My Happy Place,’ involves 40 suppliers with each supplier allowed to enter five brands.

It brings the total of participating brands to 200.

A new generation Ford Ranger is this year’s grand prize, while 45 NP200 trucks will also be up for grabs.

In total, the prizes are worth US$1 million.

OK Zimbabwe chief executive, Maxen Karombo, said the retailer values the trust it has enjoyed from various suppliers.

“As OK Zimbabwe, we exist to make happiness tangible in the faces of our shareholders, suppliers and customers, and we are happy to see everyone trusting us for such a long time.

“This is not just a promotion, brand or a horse race, this is a promotion that has changed lives; people have won bicycles, stands, houses and cars.

“We owe a lot of thanks to our supply partners who have made this possible for our customers and indeed Zimbabwe at large,” said Karombo.

He said the company maintains 100 percent local suppliers.

“We will be delivering the best of what Zimbabwe produces; don’t just shop for the month, make this your everyday thing.

“If you look at our shops around the country, you’ll discover that close to 90 percent of our products are locally sourced.

“This is the biggest savings promotion and we hope that all our suppliers meet all targets they have set during this promotion,” he said.

This year’s promotion also sees the introduction of a new logo that is more related to the suppliers and consumers with a promise of the biggest savings of the year.

Every shopper has a chance to win every week and there’s a winning chance every Saturday.
