IT’S a father versus son affair!
A man’s protection order application against his son, for allegedly making death threats against him, has been thrown out.
Pedzirai Muwani failed to convince magistrate, Rutendo Machingura, that his allegations were beyond reasonable doubt.
He told the court that his son, Tawona Muwani, was a drug addict who uses “kambwa” and gets violent when he is intoxicated.
“Whenever my son is drunk, he insults me.
“Last week he shouted at me the whole night.
“I am now afraid of my child.
“He enters my bedroom without my permission.
“Three weeks ago, he attacked me with bricks and, sometime ago, he entered my room and attacked me with a shovel,” Pedzirai said.
Tawona also levelled counter accusations against his father saying he had threatened to poison his food.
He told the court that he is epileptic and his father assaults him for that.
“I have never insulted him.
“My father threatened to poison me and told our relatives that if he died, I would have caused his death.
“To make matters worse, I am the one who bought the stand where we are currently staying.”
Magistrate Machingura dismissed the application.
