Fayaz Rahman, the community champion

HAVING worked as a general manager at BENBAR (Pvt) Ltd and received training in the fasteners business at Ace Fasteners Johannesburg, Fayaz Rahman is now the managing director and owner of Faynas Fasteners that deal in all types of industrial fasteners.  

The former captain of Schools Mashonaland Country Districts hockey team, Fayaz is a passionate golfer.

He sits on the Board of Governors of Twin Rivers School in Avondale, runs 26 Islamic centres in the Mashonaland area where we also takes care of 1 357 orphaned children.

He was involved in food distribution during the Tokwe- Mukosi floods disaster in Masvingo and was in charge of logistics in food distribution, clothing and equipment during the Cylone Idai disaster for two months with Miracle Missions. 

He has built 36 homes in Stapleford and Nyabira areas after a veld fire destroyed people’s homes, helped 26 teachers at his centres to set up tuck shops so that they have extra income and are self-sustainable. 

He is in charge of the rebuilding of the Harare Children’s Home that was guttered by a fire in August 2023.

The renovations are being done with the help of a fantastic team of individuals who have come on board and are offering their services for free.
