FBC staffer gets JCI top post

vice presidents to lead Junior Chamber International (JCI) in 2012.

This was announced at the 66th JCI World Congress held last month in Brussels, Belgium.
Commenting on the achievement, 2011 JCI Zimbabwe representative Patson Mahatchi expressed his organisation’s joy and dedicated the achievement to the industry and commitment by young Zimbabweans, when given the opportunity to perform at global fora.

“This vote of confidence by the international community is a clear testimony of what young Zimbabweans can do, regardless of the difficulties we face at home.
“We are honoured as members of JCI Zimbabwe. While we celebrate this achievement, we remain cognisant of the duty that all Zimbabweans have to do to support our ambassadors as they represent not only but the whole nation,” said Mr Mahatchi.

Mr Moyo will serve in the position of vice president following in the footsteps of Geoffrey Chikonyora in 1997, JCI senator (life member) Shingai Rukwata Ndoro (2010) and Victor Marawu in 2011.
A banker by profession, Mr Moyo is a senior manager at FBC Bank Zimbabwe Limited. He joined JCI Bulawayo in 2003 and became president (2006), national vice president (2007), national executive vice president (2009), national president (2010) before serving as the JCI Africa and the Middle East Development Council councillor in 2011.

He has attended three JCI area conferences and two JCI world congresses as well as one JCI Global Partnership Summit.
Mr Marawu was appointed as the 2012 JCI-United National Affairs Commissioner for Africa and the Middle East.
