FC Platinum fans on Saturday joined the football fraternity in mourning eight Dynamos fans that tragically lost their lives in a road accident a fortnight ago near Battlefields. The supporters perished on the day Dynamos played against Chapungu at Ascot Stadium in Gweru on June 18. The Pure Platinum Play fans on Saturday brought placards bearing messages of comfort to the bereaved families and to Dynamos fans.

“The FC Platinum family remembered the lives of their fellow supporters during the Triangle game. Football unifies the entire globe and yesterday (Saturday) was our way of saying you remain in our prayers during this time of grief,” Chido Chizondo, the FC Platinum spokesperson.

Zvishavane businessman Clever Pote gave the family of Polite Kimberly Nduku, one of the deceased fans who was buried in Shurugwi, some cash assistance. Chief Ndanga hailed Pote and Dynamos fans for the spirit they showed in honouring the departed fans.

Ashton Gwatidzo, the FC Platinum Supporters’ secretary, even travelled from Zvishavane to Mhondoro to attend the burial of one of the Dynamos fans, Rukudzo Mahupete, who was popularly known as Mai Privy.
