‘FC Platinum are our enemies’

having a fair chance of winning the big game.
Shabanie are unbeaten after two wins and a draw in their first three league matches while FC Platinum have one win and a draw in their two league games — both played away from home.
When the teams last met in the league last year, Shabanie complained bitterly that referee, Ruzive Ruzive, had played a part in their 0-1 defeat at Mandava.
There is a spring in the Shabanie step after a number of local companies came on board to support the team.
New team manager, Samson “Dread” Gondwe, said FC Platinum were enemies of Zvishavane who needed to be destroyed.
“The game on Saturday is a big game and we are meeting our enemies,” said Gondwe.
“It is a very big game in Zimbabwe, especially Zvishavane town, and my guys should win the match and if they do so it will be a great thing for the nation and the majority of Zvishavane residents. The stakes are going to be high on the day. I am going to do something big for the players and it will be a very big surprise to the team and I will even surprise the fans as we are going to celebrate the victory on the day.
“When you win a war against your enemies you celebrate ands that is what we are going to do on Saturday night.”
Gondwe was appointed caretaker manager during the last six games of last season when the team was in the relegation zone.
This season he was appointed the welfare manager and he is providing transport for the club.
Gondwe accused FC Platinum of trying to take over Zvishavane.
“I am happy that the team called FC Platinum qualified for the Independence Cup final. I want to congratulate them on their success but the big match is on Saturday,” said Gondwe.
“We are playing a league match and not a cup final and they must not expect any mercy from us. Tinoda kuvarova kuseri nekuseri sezvo tiri isu varidzivetown.
“We were here before them and they must respect that. They think that since Shabanie Mine  is not running due to financial problems so the team is small.
“They act as if they want to start re-building Zvishavane. No! No! We are the masters and we are the ones who introduced Premiership football here, so we lead the way and they must follow us.
“We have already beaten Quelaton and Blue Rangers so they are not an exception. I am urging our fans to come out in numbers and support the team of Zvishavane town.”
A fierce rivalry is emerging between Shabanie and FC Platinum and the fans are being dragged into the wars.
During the Independence Cup semi-finals at Mandava, scores of Shabanie fans supported Hwange and even the Member of Parliament for this area, Obert Mathsalaga, was surprised with the support the coalminers received that day from the local community.
FC Platinum has only one player Donald”Dombo”Ngoma remaining from the squad that fought gallantly for the promotion from Division One into the Premiership.
Nelson Mazivisa, Muranganwa Nengomasha, Raymond Sibanda and Malvern Fenyeka, who were part of that squad, have joined Shabanie.
