FC Platinum drop Norman Maroto

Lager Premiership campaign with striker Norman Maroto falling by the wayside.
The team has assembled a squad of several seasoned and youth players whom they expect to make a big impression both at home and on the continent.
The new players signed include the former Highlanders duo of Gilbert Banda and Louis Matawu, the Shabanie duo of Rowan Nenzou and Simon Shoko and the Gunners’ trio of Ali Sadiki, Mitchell Katsvairo and Qadr Amini. The team also managed to acquire the services of Francis Tizayi, Welcome Ndiweni, Hardlife Mavundi and Motor Action talisman Allan Gahadzikwa.
FC Platinum also included Zimbabwe international defender, Tapuwa Kumbuyani, on their list although the player yesterday sealed a new improved deal with CAPS United yesterday, in which the Green Machine acquired a car for the roving defender as part of the package.
The biggest capture seems to be Young Warriors’ skipper Amini, who is highly rated, and has had trials in South Africa.
Gunners are the biggest losers as they have now lost seven players to FC Platinum – Tafadzwa Dube, Daniel Vheremu, Norman Togara and the offloaded Maroto. The platinum miners, however, missed out on Soccer Star of the Year finalist Cliff Sekete.
FC Platinum secretary, Philemon Muvengwa, believes the young team will deliver both locally and on the continent.
“We believe the youngsters will deliver both in the Caf Champions League and the local Premiership.
“We hope we have a good team mixed with youth and experience,” Muvengwa said.
