FC PLATINUM END BOSSO UNBEATEN RUN

Champions FC Platinum ended Highlanders’ unbeaten start to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season with a 2-0 win at Mandava Saturday.

It was a hot afternoon for Highlanders at Mandava

In the weekend’s Game of the Week, FC Platinum scored either side of the halftime break with Soccer Star of the Year, Walter Musona sealing victory midway through the second half.

Highlanders went into the game unbeaten in 19 matches and enjoying a five-point lead at the top but leave Zvishavane beaten for the first time and now just two points ahead of Ngezi Platinum who beat Triangle 3-0 at Baobab Stadium.

FC Platinum had lost their last three league matches at Mandava since the resumption of Premiership in July.

At Baobab, Ngezi led 1-0 at halftime courtesy of Takunda Benhura and then added two more in the second half through Bruno Mtigo and captain Qadir Amini.

In the day’s other matches, bottom-placed Black Rhinos stunned Bulawayo Chiefs 2-0 at Bata Stadium where the halftime score was goalless.

Green Fuel beat Hwange 1-0 at Gibbo Stadium while Chicken Inn were held 0-0 by Cranborne Bullets at Luveve while ZPC Kariba and CAPS United also ended goalless.
