FC PLATINUM midfielder Eric Manokore is challenging himself and his teammates to use the Simba defeat as a mental springboard and bounce back to winning ways.

While accepting that soft goals were conceded, Manokore quickly preached a message of resilience and test of character.

“Football is a game of mistakes, we dust up and move on and face the next challenge (Agama),” he said.

The midfielder acknowledged the frustration but framed it as fuel rather than despair.

“It is frustrating but the best way to change the narrative I feel is to take it as a mental challenge and work extra hard.”

On a personal level, Manokore expressed confidence he can rise.

Having made only 11 appearances out of a possible 16 games last season, he believes this is the campaign to finally make an impact.

“This season is time to make an impact since I have settled well in Zvishavane,” he said.

“(I want to) help the team with double digits number of assists for me, that’s crucial and also chip in with important goals for the team as we also have targets collectively.”

With FC Platinum still searching for consistency and an away win, Manokore believes the trip to AGAMA might be turning point.

“We are still looking for our first away win, that requires extra commitment and hardwork. We are working on creating more and converting our chances during games.

“I know the guys have a strong mentality which now needs to be turned into results.

“Our opponent AGAMA, are not an easy opponent. In recent games they have shown what they are capable of and we would not want to be caught off guard.”
