in our cabinet on Sunday night,” said Shabanie chairman, Fidelis Chimedza.
“The game we are playing will be just a stroll in the park.”
Winners will walk away with US$10 000 and the losers will get US$5 000.
The floating trophy and prize money was donated by a Bulawayo-based engineering company KAYZED (Pvt) Ltd, which is run by a successful businessman, Worthwhile Mugabe.
Shabanie caretaker coach, Arnold Jani, was putting on a brave face at the press conference held in this mining town yesterday.
“I have assembled a very strong squad,” said Jani.
“We have lost only four guys and I have already found good replacements and I will not say the names out because I want fans to come and watch them knock the ball around. I have a very big surprise for FC Platinum and I do not want our fans to read about them in the newspapers but I want to watch them play.”
Jani will be assisted by his captain Phillip Sithole while coach Luke Masomere awaits the completion of due process in his appeal to have his ban by Zifa reversed. FC Platinum have a new coach, Tenant Chilumba, who joined the miners in January and got a rousing welcome when he was unveiled on Wednesday and would want to start on a winning note.
“I will be giving back to the community on Sunday afternoon. It is not a grudge match we are playing and I am confident that I am going to get my first silverware with FC Platinum on Sunday,” said the Zambian gaffer.
“I have the confidence and people must remember that my team posted good results in Zambia in all the friendlies we played.
