“He now has a work permit and we are very happy with the development as a club,” said Philimon Muvengwa the club’s secretary-general.
Mulambo joined the miners at the beginning of January from Zambian side, Nakambala Stars.
He is a central defender who can also play as an anchorman. He is likely to start the match this afternoon and will replace veteran defender Norman Togara after the former Gunners player earned himself a red card in the match against Caps United at the National Sports Stadium two weeks ago.
“It feels good to play for FC Platinum and tomorrow (Today)we are going to win and I do not doubt that. The standard of football in Zimbabwe is very good and the fans are just fantastic. I want to be in Zimbabwe for a much longer period because it is very peaceful and I am busy learning the Shona language. I like the competition at the club,” said Mulambo. The player is married to Sylvia and the couple has a three-year-old daughter, Esther.
Mulambo is a product of Monze Secondary School in the Southern Province of Zambia and has two medals. His Zambian team were runners-up in the BP Super 8 Cup in 2007 and the following year they won promotion to the elite league.
Last season his former team finished sixth on the log. He received a call up to the Under-23 squad but failed to make it as he was above the cut off age.
Apart from Mulambo the Zvishavane side will have the services of prolific striker Charles Sibanda and Welcome Ndiweni who were dropped from the team that travelled to Mozambique for the 2014 World Cup Group G qualifier in Maputo tomorrow afternoon.
