GOSPEL music lovers are already getting a taste of Dorcas Moyo’s forthcoming album, Korona Yeimvi, with the award-winning artiste beginning to release tracks ahead of the official launch scheduled for Mutare Showgrounds on October 31.
The gospel artiste has started rolling out songs from the 10-track project, with Mashoko, featuring contemporary artiste, Feli Nandi, becoming the first offering to reach the public.
The song is already generating interest on YouTube and social media, with the two artistes using their respective platforms to market the collaboration, which brings together Nandi’s distinctive musical identity and Moyo’s established gospel sound.
More tracks are expected to be released on online platforms before and after the album launch as Moyo seeks to grow her digital audience, while giving fans an opportunity to experience the new project.
Speaking through her manager, Peter Madondo, Moyo said the album is now 98 percent complete, with preparations for the launch progressing well despite some challenges.
“We have so far dropped one song, Mashoko, which features Feli Nandi, and it is now abuzz on social media and various radio stations. Pastor Tinashe Murigo and other artistes are surprise features on the album. The preparations for the launch are progressing well. We are facing challenges here and there, but we are confident that by October 31 everything will be in perfect shape,” said Madondo.
He said the team will maintain its tradition of making physical copies of the music available to fans, although the emphasis will increasingly be on digital platforms.
“As has been the norm, we shall have USB drives loaded with the latest offerings and some other tracks from our discography. We will have limited flash drives as we encourage people to access the music online, which will also contribute to online revenues,” he said.
Beyond the music, Korona Yeimvi, which translates to a crown of grey hair, carries a strong spiritual message centred on maturity, wisdom and growth in faith.
Inspired by Biblical teachings, the project uses the image of grey hair as a symbol of experience and spiritual development, encouraging believers to move beyond spiritual infancy towards a deeper understanding of their faith.
Scriptures including 1 Peter 2:2, Hebrews 5:12, 1 Corinthians 13:11 and Proverbs 16:31 inform the album’s message, reflecting on the journey towards wisdom, maturity and victory through faith.
The project also explores the different stages of life, reminding listeners that growth comes with experience, reflection and an enduring relationship with God.
Other songs on the album include the title track, Korona Yeimvi, as well as Mazita, Warikava and Rurimi, among others.

The collaboration with Feli Nandi is expected to be one of the highlights of the project, bringing an interesting musical dimension to Moyo’s gospel repertoire.
Meanwhile, the October 31 launch is expected to be a major gathering of gospel and secular music followers, with a star-studded line-up of performers set to entertain fans.
The artistes expected to perform live with their respective bands include Leonard Zhakata, Alick Macheso, Feli Nandi, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Africa Praise, Hosiah Chipanga, Cloris Machuwaire, Pastor Tinashe Murigo and Mai Ellen Anderson.
The diverse line-up is expected to add to the occasion’s appeal, bringing together performers from different musical backgrounds to celebrate Moyo’s latest offering. Moyo has remained consistent on the gospel music scene over the years, releasing projects that have strengthened her connection with audiences.
Her previous works include Mhanza Haisekwe (2023), Bvudzi Rangu Ramera (2022), Bvisai Marara (2021), PaMarah Tapfuura (2020) and Ndibatsirei Mwari (2020), among others.
