AT least, Ernest Kamba can now finally rest in peace.
The Dynamos legend, who was snubbed and betrayed by his club in his death, has been described as a legend of Zimbabwean football by FIFA.
DeMbare did not honour Kamba because he was considered a boardroom rival of club heavyweight Bernard Marriot.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino wrote to his ZIFA counterpart, Lincoln Mutasa, mourning Kamba’s death.
. Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel for this loss.
. During his international career, Ernest Kamba won several caps with the Zimbabwe national team.
. At club level, he will be remembered for his long career with Dynamos, both as a player and later on as a coach.
“Legend of Zimbabwe football, icon of Dynamos FC, known for his dedication and skill on the field, his legacy and achievements, and, in particular his personality, his leadership, his popularity and his human qualities will not be forgotten, and he will be truly missed.
“We hope that these memories and our words of support may help bring some peace and solace at this difficult time.’’
