Fifa holds induction workshop for new Zifa board

FIFA development officer for Eastern and Southern Africa Ashford Mamelodi will today hold an induction workshop for the new Zifa board at the Zifa Village.The workshop which is meant to outline the roles and responsibilities of the board will end tomorrow.

Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela said Mamelodi arrived in the country yesterday

“Mamelodi is in the country to familiarise with the new board and see what programmes they have for the next four years. The induction workshop that he is going to hold will see the board members covering topics like football governance, roles and responsibilities of the board as well as the Fifa statutes.

“This induction workshop is important for the new board since it will set a tone of what is expected in the next four years,” said Gwesela.

The Zifa board led by president Cuthbert Dube was voted into office in March and clarifying the roles of the board will make sure that there are no conflicts between the secretariat and the leadership.

Other members of the board are vice president Omega Sibanda, Tawengwa Hara, Bernard Gwarada, Twine Phiri, Fungai Chihuri, John Phiri and Miriam Sibanda.
