Filmmaker pushes boundaries of imagination

Film-maker Boanerges Chokuda has carved a niche for himself as a visionary in the realm of science fiction cinema demonstrating a unique ability to blend cutting-edge visual effects, gripping storytelling, and thought-provoking themes.

Chokuda has been focusing on short films leaving audiences questioning the very fabric of reality itself.

“I am going to be focusing on scientific fiction. I grew up being fascinated by films like Terminator, Ghost Rider and Spiderman.

“I have always wanted to do films which are rare in Zimbabwe taking a different route from the films produced already in the country I have a very creative imagination and i want to mix it with visuals effects,” said Chokuda

Asked about how he balances between creating an immersive fictional world and keeping it relatable to audiences, he said:

“I always create a fictional atmosphere and incorporate them with simple day to day activities and I create along those lines.”

As Chokuda continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in cinema, he also remains an influential figure in the sci-fi genre.
