Final results to be announced today

Harare — The final results of Wednesday’s elections will be announced today, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) said yesterday.
The Electoral Act stipulates that ZEC should announce the final poll results within five days of an election, the last day being Monday next week.ZEC chairperson Justice Rita Makarau told New Ziana that collation and verification of results was progressing well. “So far it (counting of votes) is rolling out fairly well and we hope to announce the final result by Friday (today),” she said.
