FIRE DESTROYS HOUSE IN TYNWALD

A MASSIVE fire broke out at a residence in Tynwald at around 9 pm on Saturday leaving a trail destruction.

The incident occurred while the owner of the house had gone for a memorial service.

The blaze is believed to have started when electricity was restored in the area, and there was no adult at home, including the tenants.

Gogo Gadaga, the owner of the house, expressed relief that no lives were lost.

“I was not around when the house caught fire. I had gone for a memorial service,” said Gadaga.

“My tenants were not around.  I received a call at around 10pm informing me that my house was on fire.”

“I just returned this morning, and people have been coming to survey the situation, “ she said.

According to an eyewitness, the girl who was left at home had gone to collect her phone, which was charging in the neighbourhood.

“The fire is believed to have started in one of the tenants’ rooms, which were locked at the time,” said the witness.

Valuables, including important documents, were burnt to ashes.
