Local company Hard Sounds last week repossessed its equipment from musician First Farai after he failed to pay instalments for the PA system.
Hard Sounds manager Ephraim Rateyiwa confirmed that they have repossessed the equipment but could not give the figures.
“The musician owes us something but he just needs to pay a certain amount for him to get back his equipment,” he said.
He said the musician’s equipment was set aside waiting for him to pay the amount.
“All the instruments are there but we are just waiting for him to pay a certain amount,” he said.
Farai was evasive when asked to comment on the matter yesterday.
“How did you get the news? Did you get it from Hard Sounds? It is our agreement so where are you coming in?” quipped Farai.
Pressed further the “Maoresa” song maker said he wanted to go away for a month so he decided to hand over the equipment to Hard Sounds.
“I pay per week so I decided to give them the equipment for a month because I will be away but please stop that tendency of following my life,” he said before hanging his mobile phone.
First Farai is not new to controversy involving debts.
In the past the musician failed to pay a transport company, Lime Great, their $210 after they carried his instruments to a show.
Recently he was involved in a scuffle with owner of Kwa Mhamha bar after he failed to pay for beer he was given at a show.
