IT looks like budding footballer Dylan Gumbe has just earned himself a place in the Guinness Book of Records – for all the wrong reasons.
He has probably become the first footballer in the world to feature in two teams, at different tournaments, which were kicked out for the same crime – age cheating.
Two years ago, Gumbe was part of the Young Warriors team, which was thrown out of the COSAFA Under-17 Championships in shame in South Africa for using an ineligible over-aged player.
On Saturday, Gumbe was the captain of the Dynamos Under-17 team, which was kicked out of the Marvelous Nakamba youth tournament, for fielding an over-aged player.
This time, the culprit was Gumbe who featured in that tournament for Under-17 players, when he had represented his country in the same age category, TWO years ago.
How Gumbe could be considered to be younger than Bill Antonio, who is 19, remains a mystery.
