First Lady donates borehole, computers

Chidembo Secondary School in Shamva District has received a boost of water and computers after the First Lady Auxilia Mnangagwa fulfilled her pledge.

The First Lady made the pledge two weeks ago and last Friday she was at the school where she handed over the borehole and computers.

She also donated 4 000x5kg packets of rice, 73 tonnes of maize and 1 200x2litre bottles of cooking oil for the community.

She then launched an integrated environment programme at the school which will see the commencement of fishery, orchard and wildlife conservation programmes to promote domestic tourism.

“An integrated environment programme is the backbone of life. That is where we get water and air. We should desist from the habit of cutting down trees and starting veld fires. This programme led by Minister of Water, Environment and Climate, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri has helped in transforming lives,” she said.

“You are lucky as Mashonaland Central especially Chidembo Secondary School because the programme started here and will spread to other provinces. Fisheries and wildlife will help to promote domestic tourism among our people.”
