HEALTH and Child Care Ambassador, First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, has donated modern ablution equipment to upgrade health facilities across the country, demonstrating her ongoing support for the nation’s healthcare system.
The donation, which includes a range of ablution equipment, is expected to significantly improve hygiene standards and service delivery in health facilities across the country that serve as lifelines for many communities.
Upgrading washroom facilities will enhance infection prevention and control, safeguard patients including maternal and child health, and improve working conditions for healthcare professionals.
Clean water and proper sanitation are central to effective healthcare, making this donation both timely and impactful.
Dr Mnangagwa’s steadfast support for the health sector showcases a rare combination of compassion and leadership, solidifying her reputation as a tireless advocate for accessible and dignified health care.
The Health and Child Care Ambassador has previously donated medical equipment, consumables, blankets, and food hampers, reflecting a hands-on approach rooted in compassion.

Her latest initiative highlights the importance of safe, dignified, and hygienic healthcare environments, especially in facilities where resources were in the past limited. By complementing Government efforts, Dr Mnangagwa ensures that access to quality health services is a shared national priority, not determined by geography.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care welcomed the donation, calling it a practical and meaningful intervention aligned with national health goals.
They assured that the equipment would be installed and maintained for long-term community benefit.
Receiving the consignment on behalf of the Ministry, Mr Tinashe Given Mawoko said it would benefit many parts of Zimbabwe and welcomed support for other projects.

“We thank the Mother of the Nation, Her Excellency Dr Mnangagwa, for this generous donation in support of infrastructure services in our health facilities, particularly primary healthcare facilities.
“This consignment of ablution materials will significantly improve the condition of our washrooms. In some areas, mothers have not had access to clean facilities, compromising infection prevention and control,” he said.
As these facilities become operational, they are expected to improve health outcomes and reinforce a culture of cleanliness, prevention, and dignity in healthcare delivery.
Mr Mawoko said that donations from Dr Mnangagwa have become more of a habit than an event.
“This is not the first time the Mother of the Nation has supported the Ministry. About three or four months ago, we received a consignment of hospital linen through the Angel of Hope Foundation, which we sincerely appreciate. The foundation has also provided medicines and other health-related assistance, supporting both curative services and preventive outreach programmes,” he said.

Through these programmes, mothers have been screened, communities have gained access to medication, and doctors have reached areas that are usually hard to access.
“Health workers have been deployed to peripheral areas, where they have assisted patients. We are grateful for the continued support from the Angel of Hope Foundation, through its patron, the First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa,” he said.
Through practical, people-centred initiatives, the First Lady continues to inspire hope within the health sector and positively impact lives across Zimbabwe. Dr Mnangagwa’s outreach, donations, and advocacy have established a pattern of consistent engagement that goes beyond symbolism, embedding service into routine action.
For many communities, her presence through these initiatives has become a source of reassurance.
Once again, the First Lady’s intervention demonstrates that supporting health institutions has become a habit of service, steadily transforming lives one facility at a time.
