First Pack employee nabbed for US$4k theft

A SALES executive employed by First Pack Marketing Services appeared in court yesterday accused of stealing laptops worth US$4 000 from his employer.

Never Gambure, 25, was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi.

He was released on $50 000 bail and ordered to return to court on December 16, pending finalisation of investigations.

The court heard that between September 1 and October 3, Gambure created fake receipts,  in the name of Nyamusipe Primary School, indicating that the school had bought five laptops when no such payment had been made.

He allegedly submitted the false receipts to First Pack, which released the five laptops in the belief that he was going to hand them over to the school.

It is the State’s case that on October 3, an audit was conducted and it unearthed Gambure’s fake receipts.

It is alleged that First Pack lost US$4 307 and only US$1 000 was recovered.

Pardon Dziva appeared for the State.
