PRESIDENT Mnangagwa’s twin sons − Sean and Collins − have been appointed patrons of the Africa Twins Association (ATA).
Sean and Collins hosted eight sets of twins from around the continent in Harare soon after a continental summit for twins which was held in the capital.
The summit saw Farai Lawyer Katonha and Tendai Mayor Katonha being unveiled as the presidents of ATA.
“There was a unanimous vote in favour of our First Twins to be the patrons of ATA,” said the Katonha twins.
“The Mnangagwa twins could not attend the summit due to some commitments but they managed to host the visiting twins, and some local twins, soon after the summit.
“The meeting facilitated a chance for the visiting twins to meet their countries’ ambassadors before they left Zimbabwe.
“That initiative was commended by ATA members as a very good way of linking African governments with parents and guardians of twins and multiple births.
“The visiting twins managed to share their concerns with their ambassadors here in Zimbabwe, a platform they said was never accorded to them before.”
