THE National University of Science and Technology (Nust) conferred five Doctor of Philosophy degrees on Friday at its 23rd graduation ceremony.
Of the five, Charles Teta from the Faculty of Applied Sciences was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Environmental Science and Health. His thesis title was: Effects of urban sewage, pesticides, and metals on reproduction zebra fish, danio rerio and tilapia, oreochroms mossambicus.
In the Faculty of Commerce, a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration was awarded to Stephen Ngoni Chuchu whose title of thesis was: Towards interactive modern finance theory and behavioural finance in shaping entrepreneurial financial management strategies of indigenous manufacturing small and medium enterprises in Zimbabwe.
Willaim Msekiwa Goriwondo was also awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration and the title of his thesis was: Framework for world class manufacturing principle(s) implementation in the fast moving consumer goods manufacturing companies in Zimbabwe.
Davison Zimwara graduated with a Doctorate in the same faculty and the title of his thesis was: Improving manufacturing competitiveness through implementation of world class manufacturing strategies: A case study of Zimbabwean manufacturing companies.
The fifth doctorate was awarded to Vincent Alec Mnkandla in the Faculty of Science and Technology Education. The title of his thesis was: Towards an understanding of the vision-mission statement of higher education institutions in Zimbabwe and the extent they foster a technological society for sustainable development.
Two Sunday News correspondents Lungile Tshuma and Mbongeni Msimanga also walked away with a Master of Science Degree in Journalism and Media Studies. Lungile was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Prize, Nust Book Prize and a Voluntary Media Council Floating Trophy Prize.
