Five killed in head-on collision

Five people died on the spot, while seven others were injured, when a FAW truck and a Mitsubishi truck collided head-on at the 129km peg along the Masvingo-Mbalabala Road yesterday morning.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the injured were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“The ZRP confirms that five people died in a road traffic accident which occurred at the 129Km peg along the Masvingo-Mbalabala Road on June 29, 2021 at 0730hrs when a Faw truck and a blue Mitsubishi pick-up had a collision,” he said.

“Seven other occupants were injured and taken to hospital.”

Asst Comm Nyathi said they were still gathering more details on the accident.
