THE Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League has been thrown into disarray after seven matches were postponed this weekend due to national team call-ups.
With several clubs losing key players to the Under-17 Cosafa squad and the Under-20 World Cup Qualifier team, the league board announced a temporary halt to fixtures involving Conduit Soccer Academy, Mpopoma Sports Academy, Platinum Royals, and Faith Drive Academy.

Although Platinum Royals and Conduit Academy agreed to continue playing without their stars, others like Mpopoma Sports Academy’s clash with Red Buffalo Academy at Bulawayo Chiefs Village had to be shelved.
Red Buffalo Academy director Gumisai Dengure called the postponement “a blessing in disguise,” saying it gives the cash-strapped side precious time to fundraise for future matches.

New dates for the affected games will be announced before the end of the first half of the season.

Affected Matches:
• Mpopoma Sports Academy vs Red Buffalo Academy
• Faith Drive Academy vs Sheasham
