Football, among other sports genres like rugby and netball, will be allowed to resume as soon as Thursday while the SRC has eliminated the costly bio bubble concept.

Announcing the decision to pave way for the return of football, SRC chairman Gerald Mlotshwa said: “We are lobbying for sports associations to get vaccinations. Just like all sports associations that have received the greenlight to resume play, ZIFA has to prove they have the financial capacity to resume. If that is done they ca resume as early as Thursday. While testing will remain mandatory, PCR testing per sir will no longer neccessary. Schools allowed to resume sports classified as low risk immediately.”
