Football Trust dinner flops

Sports Reporter
THE inaugural Zimbabwe Football Trust committee Fundraising dinner dance which was meant to be held at a Harare hotel on Wednesday night failed to take place due to what Zifa have termed “circumstances beyond our control.”
The dinner dance was meant to mobilise funds for an awards night early next month as well as funds for the Warriors’ Chan and Nations Cup preparations.

The awards night is meant to honour individuals and organisations that have contributed to the development of Zimbabwe football over the last 50 years.

Xolisani Gwesela, the Zifa communications manager confirmed the cancellation of the event and said it had since been postponed to a later date.

“There were a lot of reasons for us to postpone that event, most of which were beyond our control,” said Gwesela.
