Football’s latest mag on cards

the first week of February.
Editor of the newly-established magazine, Fanuel Viriri, said their publication was geared to tell the story of the lifestyles of the footballers.
“There are several daily and weekly newspapers which publish serious football issues but we are going to be different in that we are there to celebrate football.
“Football is big business but we need to look at the lighter side and see the kind of cars that some of the footballers drive and also the houses they have built.
“It’s a combination of a little bit of fashion and entertainment that is based on football.
“We will look at both local and international football,” said Viriri.
Viriri said their offices are based at the National Sports Stadium but the publication will be having correspondents from around Zimbabwe and abroad.
“The focus is on our Zimbabwean footballers but we will also look at international players. This is why we have correspondents in Brazil, South Africa and United States,” he said.
Openedge Publishers, a wholly owned Zimbabwean company, are the owners of the publication that should be in full colour.
“There should be value for the readers and the advertisers. So far we have received pledges from potential advertisers and we are going to complement the publications that are in the market already,” said Viriri.
