THIS soccer star clearly forgot that a football is for kicking and a wife is for loving! Instead of scoring goals on the pitch, he decided to turn his wife’s face into a training cone.
Corey Black (29), who once dazzled fans in the Zifa Central Region Soccer League Division One while turning out for Blanket Mine and was crowned first runner-up at the 2024 season awards, has now been shown a red card by the law.

He nearly traded his soccer kit for a prison uniform after brutally bashing his wife over a mysterious phone call.
The disgraced player appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Barbara Phiri, where he was facing physical abuse charges and slapped with a 12-month jail sentence.

However, he will NOT spend all that time behind bars.
Six months were wholly suspended for five years, while the other six were further suspended on condition of good behaviour.

The court heard that on April 10, the “King of the Pitch” became a beast at home. The drama started at around 9 AM when his wife, Ennie Nleya, caught him taking a suspicious call outside.

When she checked the phone, she found a contact saved as “King Zulu.”

Suspicious that “King Zulu” might actually be a “Queen,” she confronted her hubby — and that’s when the match turned violent.

In a fit of rage, Black didn’t use his famous footwork; instead, he used his hands to strike his wife multiple times in the face and strangled her.

State prosecutor Mehluli Ndlovu told the court how the footie star lost his cool and attacked Ennie.
Brave Ennie didn’t stay down for the count — she headed straight to the police station to report the foul play, leading to Black’s arrest.

The former Blanket Mine star pleaded guilty to physical abuse. While his wife refused medical help and no report was filed, the magistrate made sure Black knew that domestic violence is a game where everyone loses.
