A HARARE woman has been granted a protection order against her husband who abused her for four years.
Wekuthula Langisoni and her husband, Trymore Mpaka, separated two months ago, due to rampant domestic violence.
Wekuthula told Harare Civil Court magistrate, Sharon Mashavira, that her husband physically and verbally abuses her.
“We broke up two months ago, but he keeps coming to my home to beat me up and insult me.
“He threatens to remove the roofing sheets and door because he is the one who bought them,” she said.
Trymore did not deny the allegations.
He, however, demanded all the things he bought before they were married.
“Yes Your Worship, what she said is true, but all I want is my door and roofing sheets which I bought before we got married.
“These are my things and I worked hard for them, but now she refuses to return them.
“That’s why I beat her up,” Trymore said
Magistrate Mashavire granted the protection order and ordered Trymore to move on and not to take the door and roofing sheets.
