ALL is set for Soul Jah Love’s memorial gala slated for Glamis Arena tomorrow, with over 50 acts raring to go.

Show organiser, Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza, said it was all systems go, after months of preparations, to give the departed chanter a befitting tribute show.

Soul Jah Love died on February 16 last year after a long battle with diabetes.

He was 31.

However, his tribute show was delayed due to the then Covid-19 induced lockdown.

Following the lifting of the curfew, Chipaz, who worked closely with the late chanter, decided to put together the show.

The gala has the blessing of the Musaka family, represented by the chanter’s estate executor and sister, Caroline Musaka.

In an interview with H-Metro, Chipaz said they were ready for the event.

“All the artistes, who are supposed to perform at Sauro’s gala, are actually hired by Chipaz Promotions.

“No one will perform for free on this big day.

“As a promoter, I am trying to keep Sauro’s legacy as well as celebrate his life in style.

“With the help of Sauro’s fellow Zim dancehall artistes, I assure everyone that this day will be memorable and enjoyable.

“Zim dancehall artistes pleaded for a big venue because they all wanted to be part of Sauro’s commemoration gala.

“It really feels good when artistes still appreciate and acknowledge Sauro as an iconic artiste although he is no more.”

However, Chipaz urged other promoters to join hands and continue to keep Sauro’s legacy.

“I urge my fellow promoters to do whatever they can to keep the legacy of our late Zim dancehall king.

“The door is open for every promoter who feels he or she wants to take part in organising such events for our late iconic artists.

“For me, this is not going to be the last commemoration gala for Sauro, more shows are on the way,” he added.

Freeman, Seh Calaz, Killer T, Enzo Ishall, Tocky Vibes, Shinsoman and Jah Master will be among the Zim dancehall artists going to perform at the gala.

Meanwhile, advance tickets are already on sale at all Diamond pharmacies in the capital, Glamis Arena and F&G Showgrounds.
