A number of foreign investors are expected in the country next week for the ninth infrastructure and construction summit to be held in Nyanga.

The summit will be hosted by the Global Renaissance and will run from October 13-16.

Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona, Energy and Power Development Minister Edgar Moyo, and National Housing and Social Amenities Minister Zhemu Soda are expected to address the summit.

Global Renaissance chief executive officer Mr Ngonidzashe Dzirutwe said the summit would be held under the theme: “Delivering modern smart infrastructure in line with Vision 2030.”

“As the Global Alliance we annually host the Infrastructure and Construction Summit and this year is our ninth summit that will happen in Nyanga at Troutbeck Resort, which will be attended by the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Energy and the Minister of National Housing at the event.

“We are also going to have investors coming on board from countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, India and South Africa among others so that they understand the infrastructure investment opportunities that are available in the country.

“We want to see how we can modernise our roads and infrastructure in line with Vision 2030,” he said. The organisers were targeting foreign investors to partner in the modernisation of the country’s infrastructure and hailed progress that has been made by the Second Republic in that regard.

“The roads in Harare are now quite modern and the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport has been upgraded and is now internationally appealing.

“We also have the Beitbridge Border Post which has been modernised. That is the kind of infrastructure that we want for our nation,” said Mr Dzirutwe.
