DUE to the Covid-19 pandemic, Rushinga High School needs more water points for students to wash their hands frequently.
The school administration decides to put the water tap for the school. A task was given to the Mathematics department to establish a suitable supply for the tap as learners of Rushinga High School. You are required to locate the most appropriate site for the water tap.
THE CALA
The CALA has two parts, namely part A and part B and learners are expected to answer all parts.
Part A
You are required to measure the length and width of the school yard and record the results, also the distance of the classroom from the nearest points of the fence.
Part B
Using the information obtained in Part A make a sketch of the school ground using the ratio of 1: 500. Mark a possible point to the place the water tap and give a reason for your choice.
How you will be assessed.
You will be assessed for your ability to: Measure, construct a rectangle, scale drawing, problem-solving.

For the measurements round off to three significant figures.
