Former Charamba guitarist releases album

former band leader.
“It is not that I sound like Pastor Charamba, but that I worked with him and obviously I learnt quite a lot from his music. In fact, he (Charamba) is my role model and my pastor from A.F.M Hatcliffe North Assembly.

“My first album ‘Suwo Rakamanikana’ has Baba Charamba’s flair because I used to sing with him. However, the similarity ends there because I sing my own compositions,” said Sanyangore.

Sanyangore is currently riding high following the success of his two previous albums released in the past two years. The youthful gospel singer backed by the Harmonic Praises, his own group are on cloud nine with their latest album.

“I know for a very long time my fans were waiting for the new but now that it’s out we are excited about it. At least I hope the album will be well received,” he said.
On his second album titled “From Egypt to Canaan” Sanyangore describes his trials and tribulations as he started out his music career.

The musician said he waited for long before he eventually made it through in the cut- throat industry where promoters only consider established musicians.
“Breaking through was difficult since I was working on a tight budget. Promoters always go for the tried and tested without nurturing upcoming artistes.
“You cannot blame them since they are in business to make money,” he said.

Plans are afoot for Sanyangore to collaborate with his long-time friend Innocent Gakaka and Progress Chipfumo for the next album. Sanyangore started his music journey in 2002 before he joined Pastor Charamba in 2007.
