Former local drama actor Gearbox dies

 FORMER local drama Kukhulwa kokuphela actor Nhlanhla Lucky “Gearbox” Sibanda has died.

He was 57.

Sibanda died at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo on Tuesday night after suffering from cancer for three years.

Family spokesperson Nqaba Sibanda who is Gearbox’s younger brother said they were naturally devastated by the news of his death.

“It’s a difficult time for us as a family. He has left me alone after the death of my father in 2010 he was now my father. We lost a good man and a father figure,” said Sibanda.

“He had been suffering from cancer for the past three years and unfortunately lost the battle Tuesday at 11PM.”

On funeral arrangements Sibanda said: “We haven’t made any we shall do so and have a position for people in due course,” said Sibanda.

Sibanda leaves behind a wife, six children and six grandchildren.

Mourners are gathered at 9 Barrett Avenue Sunnyside in Bulawayo.
