Former magistrate Nakhozwe dies

Mrs Nakhozwe, who is the wife of executive chairman of Moonlight and Mashfords Funeral parlours, Mr Grant Nakhozwe died at the Avenues Clinic where she was receiving treatment.
“My wife has been suffering for 21 years with high blood pressure and diabetes. She passed away on Saturday at the Avenues Clinic after being admitted last Monday,” said Mr Nakhozwe at his farm in Beatrice area, just opposite to the late Retired General Solomon Mujuru’s Alamein Farm.
He said two weeks ago his wife was admitted at AMI Hospital before being transferred to the Avenues Clinic. “At AMI Hospital they said they did not have life supporting machines, that is why we had to move her to the Avenues Clinic,” Mr Nakhozwe said.
Her daughter Definite (35) said they had lost a mother and friend who was a pillar of strength.
Media, Information and Publicity Minister Webster Shamu described Mrs Nakhozwe as a hardworker who worked for Government for sometime.
“The nation and the Nakhozwe family had lost someone who was a hardworker and a pillar who was always there for the people in times of need. She and her husband helped several people,” he said.
Minister Shamu said it was sad to note that just last week the nation lost a national her Cde Mujuru and now it is Mrs Nakhozwe who resides just opposite the late Rtd General’s farm.
A relative, businessman Mr Philip Chiyangwa said he had known the family for many years.
“The death of Mrs Nakhozwe is not only a loss to us but to the nation as well,” he said.
Mrs Nakhozwe is survived by her husband, five children and 13 grandchildren. She will be buried tomorrow at 2:30pm at their Blakiston Farm.
