FORMER Miss Tourism Zimbabwe Samantha Tshuma has a bun in the oven! The model joins former queens in the motherhood race as she is expecting her first child from mid April to May.The man responsible for the bump that would automatically resign Tshuma (25) from the catwalk business is none other than 42-year-old Bulawayo entrepreneur Chris Vukani Mhlanga. Tshuma seems to have found Mr Right as the couple has been together for the past three years. Mhlanga is a father of two teenage daughters.
According to Mhlanga, Tshuma- who had a fair share of ups and downs in past relationships, left the country for South Africa this week and she will give birth there. Asked why Tshuma would give birth in a foreign land, Mhlanga said he was South African and preferred that his children be born there.
Asked how he felt about dating a former top model, Mhlanga said he was glad it was him she had chosen to spend the rest of her life with.
“I met Sammy when she was a stranger to me as I didn’t know she was Miss Zimbabwe. Our relationship has grown over the years, what most people don’t know is that Samantha is good at what she does, only that she is misunderstood,” he said.
Efforts to get a comment from Tshuma were fruitless as she was not reachable because she is yet to buy a mobile line in South Africa.
A friend to the beautiful Tshuma said “Sammy” as she is affectionately known by her friends, is on cloud nine.
“Sammy is over the moon, I think she is ready and this baby will cement their love with Vukani. They are inseparable,” said the friend who requested anonymity.
Tshuma who is customarily married to Mhlanga joins former Miss Zimbabwe, Vanessa Sibanda who gave birth to a baby boy last year and former Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Lisa Morgan who welcomed her baby boy last month.
Mhlanga said they would probably tie the knot in December this year – if all goes according to plan.
The two lovers met in 2011 in Bulawayo but publicly announced their love in 2012. The businessman and model have been working together in various projects including the Miss Grand International pageant.
Tshuma rose to fame in 2010 when she was unanimously crowned Miss Tourism Zimbabwe at an event held at the Harare International Conference Centre. She further hogged the limelight when she was accused of fleecing her ex-lover, an Indian businessman of $10 000.
